Following the releasing multiple chart-topping songs this year, BTS is not slowing down anytime soon. As the group is gearing up for their upcoming offline and online concerts, the group's eldest member and vocalist Jin is awaiting the release of his OST. He will croon the main theme track for the upcoming mystery Korean drama Jirisan starring Jun Ji Hyun and Joo Ji Hoon in lead roles.
On October 1, the production company of the drama, AStory, made an official announcement about Jin's participation in the highly-anticipated drama. According to Korean tabloid Soompi, the statement read, “BTS’s Jin’s song for the Jirisan OST will be the main theme song for Jirisan, and you will be able to hear it starting from midway through the drama. We will announce the release date [for the song] at a separate time.”
Set against the backdrop of towering views of Mount Jiri, where rangers and other employees of the Jirisan National Park climb through the mysterious and unexplored regions of the mountain, trying to rescue the survivors and lost trekkers. Seo Yi Kang is the park's top ranger who has vast experience in navigation, making her knowledgeable when it comes to tracking down lost individuals. One day, she becomes the partner of Kang Hyun Jo, a rookie park ranger who is a military academy graduate and an ex-lieutenant who experienced a horrific incident on Mount Jiri which led him to become a ranger. The drama is centered around a mystery surrounding the mountain's many visitors; those who come to kill, and those who come to end their lives. The two rangers will investigate the truth behind the mysterious accident.
The drama is penned by Kingdom writer Kim Eun Hee and helmed by Goblin director Lee Eung Bok. Jirisan premieres on October 23 at 9 p.m. KST.
Last year in September, reports surfaced that Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan will be making his OTT debut with the Hindi adaptation of the British mini-series The Night Manager. The series was to be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar and the actor was reportedly being paid a huge sum around the vicinity of Rs. 75 crore for the same. However, back in February this year, it was reported that the actor backed out from the project. This was followed by Manoj Bajpayee's exit who couldn't be part of it due to the unavailability of the dates. So, the makers began to hunt two actors and now they've found their characters in Malang stars, Aditya Roy Kapur and Anil Kapoor.
According to a report in a tabloid, Aditya and Anil have been locked in to headline in the Indian adaptation of The Night Manager. While Aditya plays the role of Indian version of the Jonathan Pine character, essayed by Tom Hiddleston in the original 2016 limited series based on the 1993 novel by John Le Carre, whereas Anil Kapoor will reprise Hugh Laurie's role of an arms dealer who disguises himself to be a business tycoon.
The makers are currently finalising the principal cast for the film. Sandeep Modi will direct the six-part spy series and it promises to be made on a big scale. It is being produced by Preity Zinta in association with Banijay Asia.
The Night Manager is a British television serial directed by Susanne Bier and starring Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, David Harewood, Tom Hollander, and Elizabeth Debicki in pivotal roles. The series originally premiered on BBC One on February 21, 2016.
Brazilian soccer legend Pele left a Sao Paulo hospital after several weeks on Thursday, and a hospital bulletin said he would undergo chemotherapy following the removal of a colon tumor.
Pele had been hospitalized for nearly a month, checking in for routine exams before undergoing a September 4 operation to remove the tumor.
He was in and out of the Albert Einstein Hospital’s intensive care unit in the days after surgery, with social media posts from his family assuring fans he was recovering well.
The hospital said in a Thursday bulletin that he was stable and cleared in the morning to leave the hospital, but would “continue with chemotherapy.”
Pele left the hospital early in the evening, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The Santos, Brazil and New York Cosmos player will turn 81 on October 23.
Pele is the only man to win three World Cups as a player.
On Wednesday, his daughter Kely said that he was expected to be discharged. “Now that he’s stronger and leaving the hospital to continue recovering and treating himself at home, I’m going back home,”Pele’s US-based daughter said on social media.

Kaizer Chiefs legend William Shongwe believes the Amakhosi’s problems are many despite people focusing solely on their goalkeeping department.
The former Amakhosi goalkeeper has opened up on the perceived goalkeeping crisis at the Glamour Boys while insisting that this is the healthiest department at Naturena.
Despite the season just being six games in, Stuart Baxter has already used all four of his Kaizer Chiefs first team goalkeepers leaving many fans worried about the lack of stability in goal.
Shongwe however believes the actual problem lies with the Amakhosi attackers who aren’t taking their chances.
“People say the goalkeepers have done badly, but has the team done enough to score goals? You can’t blame it on the goalkeepers.” the former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper told SoccerLaduma.
” It feels a little bit unfair to me that goalkeepers are taking the flak for the team’s poor form, while you can see that there are bigger problems upfront. There’s bigger problems in defence. They are opening up too much for the opposition to test the goalkeeper. Akpeyi was incredible (against Gallants) and made two brilliant saves which any other goalkeeper may have conceded.
“Kaizer Chiefs are poor everywhere. They are not testing the opposition enough, they are not creating enough, they are not defending well. The problems are not in one department. I would have a big problem if there would be a change after such a brilliant display by Akpeyi. If there are medical issues or his injured, I would understand. But at the moment I think his confidence is very high and it’s something that they can build on.”

“Some people would have seen it a step back coming back home. But Kaizer Chiefs is big club and I viewed it as a great opportunity to play in South Africa and also use it as an opportunity to go back to Europe.
“Money was not the reason the deal to Chiefs fell through. Like I said, the negotiations were very smooth with Kaizer Chiefs, everything was going well. I really don’t know what happened.
‘But I have now moved to Poland, I’m looking forward to playing here. I’m excited. They are likely to use me as an 8. I’m also encouraged by the Bafana coach picking young players for his squads and they are doing well and I wish them all the best against Ethiopia.”

The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) has rejected Eskom’s Fifth Multi-Year Price Determination (MYPD5) revenue application for the financial years 2022/23, 2023/24 and 2024/25.
This means that the energy regulator does not agree with the price hikes that Eskom has proposed consumers pay for electricity over the three upcoming financial periods.
“The energy regulator endorsed the MYPD5 pricing methodology review and consequently rejected Eskom’s Fifth Multi-Year Price Determination (MYPD5) revenue application for the financial years 2022/23, 2023/24 and 2024/25,” Nersa said in a statement. Nersa said that it had embarked on a consultation process to gather comments from stakeholders to assist in the development of the new methodology that will ensure sustainable electricity prices.
“In this regard, NERSA has published a consultation paper on principles to be used when determining electricity prices for the oncoming tariff setting period. The new price determination approach will also take into consideration the rapid transformation of South Africa’s electricity sector, respond to the transformation of the Electricity Industry and associated energy security concerns, rising electricity prices as well as the increase in self and private sector electricity generation,” Nersa said.
Nersa received Eskom’s MYPD5 revenue application on 2 June 2021. The application was based on the MYPD4 methodology, with an applicable control period ending on 31 March 2022.
“After due consideration of the rationality and legality of applying an expired MYPD4 methodology and whether this was in the public interest, the energy regulator rejected Eskom’s MYPD5 application,” Nersa said.
Nersa said that it would ask Eskom to submit a one-year interim application for the 2022/23 financial year, preferably based on the principles of the new approach that is under consideration.
The Eskom Development Foundation has called on black entrepreneurs in the manufacturing sector to enter its annual Business Investment Competition (BIC), which is running from 30 August 2021 to midnight on 31 October 2021.
Eskom announced that to participate, the businesses must be in the engineering/construction, manufacturing, agriculture/agri-processing, or trade/services sectors and have been in operation for at least 24 months. Now in its 13th consecutive year, the competition’s prize money totals R1,3 million. The overall winner will receive R300 000 and the winner of each sector will take home R131 250, whereas the first and second runners-up will receive R75 000 and R50 000, respectively.
“Eskom’s BIC not only provides a cash injection to entrepreneurs to sustain their businesses but, through our Business Connect workshops in which the BIC entrants participate after the competition, we also build their capacity with business skills to help them navigate the challenging economic terrain that the pandemic created, we call it powering up” said Cecil Ramonotsi, Chief Executive Officer of the Eskom Development Foundation.
Eskom has called on all small businesses in this sector to seize the opportunity that the BIC presents to contribute to their development and sustainability.
“Although statistics show a 1,6% growth in the manufacturing sector in the first quarter of 2021 compared with the fourth quarter of 2020 and is showing signs of economic recovery, we realise the impact that COVID-19 has had on this sector over the past year, particularly the small players that require greater assistance to stay afloat,” Ramonotsi said.
In the report on the survey of the National Youth Development Agency’s (NYDA’s) Impact of Covid – 19 on Small Medium and Micro Enterprises Since lockdown, released in September 2020, the respondents cited the challenges that the pandemic posed to the small business sector as lack of revenue generation (26%), cash-flow challenges (22%), and the inability to generate sales (14%).
“Despite the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic created, we were able to reinvest the prize money received from the 2020 BIC into the business by getting an electricity upgrade in our factory to increase our production capacity,” said Tshepo Mazibuko of KI Recycling, manufacturing-sector winners in the 2020 BIC.
“Our Corporate Social Investment approach at Eskom has shifted, particularly in relation to enterprise development, to interventions aimed at creating an enabling environment for black industrialists to emerge and thrive,” Ramonotsi added.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) says since its special R350 grant was rolled out in August, more than 14 million applications have been submitted. More than 8.3 million have been approved, while over 5.6 million received their monies by September 2021.
Sassa CEO Busisiwe Memela-Khambula further said unemployed care-givers without the 13-digit bar coded South African identification documents, who receive child grants, can now apply for the SASSA R350 grant.
“This category is composed largely by refugees and asylum seekers. To enable these specific clients to apply for social grants, Sassa has allocated them a system-generated 7777 identification number to assist them to access social assistance,” she said.
Memela-Khambula has also reiterated that unemployed care givers with ID documents who have been approved for the grant are paid their monies through their gold Sassa payment cards.
She stressed that beneficiaries who receive their R350 grant in their Sassa cards, should not collect their monies at the Post Office but to access the money at participating merchants or bank ATMs.
“They are reminded that they can also use the card to pay for purchases and not necessarily only to withdraw cash,” Memela-Khambula said.

South Africa could find itself off the United Kingdom’s (UK) travel red list, if what President Cyril Ramaphosa has said is anything to go by. He recently had a talk with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson over the matter and says both leaders agreed that the decision to impose any travel restrictions should be based on science.
The country revised the list earlier this month – removing eight countries, including Bangladesh, Egypt, Maldives and Kenya, however South Africa did not make the cut. This means that those travelling from the country to the UK will only be allowed entry if they are British or Irish nationals or have residence rights in the UK.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has previously stressed that the UK is an important trading partner for South Africa, which warranted the travel restrictions between both countries to be eased, particularly given the economic consequences of the red list remaining unchanged.
Ramaphosa was addressing the nation and announced that the country would be moving to Alert Level 1 of the Lockdown. He also used the opportunity to inform South Africans about his chat with Johnson.
“The United Kingdom imposed a travel ban on South Africans by red listing our country. This has put us in a disadvantaged position, since the United Kingdom is South Africa’s biggest source of tourism from the northern hemisphere and a significant trading partner,” Ramaphosa said on Thursday evening, 30 September 2021.
Ramaphosa added that while UK scientists were concerned about the presence of the Beta variant of COVID-19 in South Africa, the reality was that the Delta variant is far more dominant. This is the same stance taken by health experts who said the UK’s decision to keep South Africa on its travel red list didn’t make any sense.
“Earlier today I had a call with the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to discuss this matter. I put South Africa’s case to him, which he understood very well. We both agreed that decisions of this nature should be informed by science and are hopeful of a positive outcome when the issue comes up for review in the coming days”

Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, has approved the resumption of Identity Document (ID) and passport applications and extended the validity period of legally issued visas or asylum permits which expired during the lockdown period to 31 December 2021.
Directions communicating these amendments, in line with the National State of Disaster Regulations, were gazetted on 28 September 2021.
The Deparment of Home affairs announced in a statement this week that people who were issued with Temporary ID Certificates and those who have lost their IDs can now return to Home Affairs offices to apply for their IDs. These IDs will be available for collection within 13 days from the day of application.
The extension applies to people who applied for waivers in terms of section 31(2)(c) of the Immigration Act, 2002 and holders of asylum seeker visas/permits or refugee status.
“The extension does not apply to people who entered the country from 15 March 2021. The normal validity period of visas of people admitted into the country from 15 March 2021 applies,” the department of home affairs said.
Qualifying visa or permit of holders who have not departed South Africa since the announcement of the National State of Disaster in March 2020, and arrived with a valid visitor’s visa between December 2019 and 14 March 2021, are deemed to be valid until the end of December 2021, the department of home affairs added.
“Holders of such visas are permitted to remain in the country under the conditions of their visas until the expiry of their applicable extension. Those wishing to be repatriated to their countries within this period can depart without being declared undesirable persons,” the department of home affairs said.
Refugee Reception Centres remain closed to walk-ins.
“The validity of asylum and refugee permits that expired during the lockdown and whose holders could not use the online extension service, has been extended until 31 December 2021. Asylum seekers and refugees are encouraged to continue renewing their permits via the online platform,” the department said.
As at 08 September 2021, the Department had extended 24 333 Section 24 (refugee status) and 69 185 Section 22 (asylum seeker permits) through the online platform, since it was activated in April 2021. A total of 93 518 asylum seeker permit and refugee status had been extended online.
“Holders of a visa or permit must adhere to the terms and conditions of their visa and any activity not endorsed onto such visa or permits is prohibited,” the department of home affairs said.
Services available at Home Affairs are: births registration; late registration of birth; re-issuance of birth, marriage and death certificates; applications for unabridged birth, marriage and deaths certificates, including vault copies; death registration; applications for temporary identity certificates; applications and collection of identity card or document; applications and collection of passports; solemnisation and registration of marriages; applications for retention and renunciation of citizenship; applications for rectifications and amendments of personal particulars; applications for travel documents for persons who are to take up employment or studies abroad, attend funerals or other emergency situations, on submission of proof therefor; visa services in terms of the Immigration Act; and online renewal of refugee status and asylum seeker permits/visas.

Victor Adere aka Victor AD is a fast rising Afropop sensation. Born Victor Eugenie Adere in Kirikiri, Apapa, Lagos State, Hails from Delta state Nigeria but had his early life in Lagos. He attended Heritage International School in Lagos and Ekpan Secondary School in Warri. The rising act first showed interest in music at a very tender age of six, influenced by the likes of Bob Marley, Sunny Ade, Michael Jackson and Lucky Dube, then he began composing his songs.
Nothing To Prove is a REDEYE X BOOMPLAY project with production from the fast-rising producers the likes of Kulboy, Vybo, and sound engineering from Swaps, Millamix & Extraordinaire. The EP houses 6-tracks and features the likes of Phyno, Mr Eazi & Tanzania superstar act Lava Lava.

The United States condemns Ethiopia’s expulsion of seven United Nations officials,White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on Thursday, warning that Washington will not hesitate to use sanctions against those who obstruct humanitarian efforts in the country.
The expulsions were announced by Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs two days after the world body’s aid chief said that a government blockade of humanitarian aid had likely forced hundreds of thousands of people in the northern region of Tigray into famine.
“The US government condemns in the strongest possible terms the government of Ethiopia’s unprecedented action to expel the leadership of all of the United Nations organisations involved in ongoing humanitarian operations,” Psaki told reporters at a regular news briefing.
“This is a stain on our collective conscience, and it must stop.”
Psaki called on the UN Security Council and other countries to take urgent action to make clear to the Ethiopian government that impeding humanitarian operations is unacceptable.
Washington has repeatedly called for a negotiated end to a conflict in the northern region of Tigray between federal forces and those aligned with the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), the political party that controls the region.
Since the conflict erupted in November, thousands have been killed and more than two million have fled their homes.
Fighting spread in July from Tigray into the neighboring regions of Amhara and Afar, displacing hundreds of thousands of people.
Psaki warned that absent clear and concrete changes, the United States will impose sanctions.
She said President Joe Biden’s administration is preparing to take “aggressive action” under an executive order issued earlier this month that allows Washington to impose sanctions on parties to the conflict if they obstruct humanitarian access, commit serious human rights abuse or prolong the conflict.
“We must see meaningful steps within weeks to initiate discussions to achieve a negotiated ceasefire, allow unhindered humanitarian access and ensure respect for human rights.
Absent significant progress, we’ll take action – and we have the methods to do that,” Psaki said.

Political parties have questioned the motivations for President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement of level one of the lockdown.

Newly-signed Radomiak midfielder Thabo Cele has told his side of the story on what led to his failed move to Kaizer Chiefs.

In an interview with SAFM on Thursday, Cele said he had no intentions of coming back to South Africa until Chiefs showed serious interest in him.
However, the proposed deal fell through after talks were opened between the two parties, Cele confirmed.

“I wasn’t really thinking about coming back home until there was serious interest from Kaizer Chiefs, but the negotiations fell through,” said Cele.
Cele said as a Chiefs fan who grew up in a family that supports the Soweto giants, he was keen on a move to Naturena so much so that he waited on them despite sitting on offers from Poland and Portugal.

“I’m a fan of Chiefs and even my family supports Chiefs. So, I was looking forward to it,” revealed Cele.
“I had an offer in Poland. There was interest from Portugal. I waited for the move to Chiefs to happen but it didn’t happen,” he said.

Cele said he still doesn’t know what led to Chiefs dragging their feet, and to show that he was ready, he had even started watching Amakhosi’s games.
“The club in Poland then came back with better communication. I’m not sure what happened with Chiefs. I was even watching their games. I was ready,” he added.

While having a discussion with the rest of the housemates at the garden, Pere disclosed that even after all that Saga said that caused their brief fall out, he still respects him because he has a pure heart.
He called one time they were having tests and fell in the same group. They kind of had a mini altercation and even after that, Saga moved on quickly and still came to him to have a discussion.
He also remarked that anyone could have said what Saga said.

According to Davido, he had to leave Nigeria because of the threats he was receiving. Davido stated that he doesn’t regret writing the song nor supporting the movement. He confessed that he felt fulfilled with how people were speaking out about the bad governance and the ugly state of Nigeria.
Davido told Trevor that the government might not have resolved the issues that led to the protest, but he is happy with the fact that they know that Nigerians won’t sit back and watch them ruin their country.
