Man seriously injured when motorbike rear-ends car

Paramedics treated a man in his 30s who was seriously injured on Sunday.


THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED IN MEYERTON ON SUNDAY


“The man was injured when his motorbike rear-ended a light motor vehicle on Brockett Street in Meyerton.”


ER24 said medics arrived at 10h30 and found the motorbike and car in the one lane.


“A man in his 30s was found lying in front of the car.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained several serious injuries.”


It said the man was treated and provided pain-relief medication before being transported to Kopanong Provincial Hospital for further care.

“The female driver of the vehicle, fortunately, escaped injury.”


Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.

Meanwhile, in KwaZulu-Natal police found the bodies of two men in different areas.


BOTH BODIES WERE FOUND ON SUNDAY


“Police divers from Durban and Port Shepstone Search and Rescue, K9 SAR and Metro Police SAR were called out to Magabeni for a drowning following a cleansing ritual in the Mgababa river near the Hlanzeni.” 


It said the body of a 22-year-old male was recovered from the river. 


Meanwhile also on Sunday members from DBN SAPS #SearchAndRescue, K9 SAR & Metro SAR were called out to the Hillcrest area.


Police recovered the body of a 69-year-old man down a steep embankment in the bushes alongside Mepho Road near the Waters edge of Inanda Dam.

An inquest docket has opened and will be investigated.
