Severe Weather Alerts


IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:



  1. Yellow Level 2 warning for interior winds resulting in build-up of sand and loose debris on roads is expected over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, and the western parts of the North West and Free State Provinces.


FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:



  1. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, the northern interior of the Eastern Cape, and the western parts of both North West and Free State Provinces.

Gauteng:


Temperature: Fine and cool to warm.


The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very high.


Mpumalanga:


Temperature: Morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise fine and warm.


Limpopo:


Temperature: Fine and warm.


North-West Province:


Temperature: Fine becoming partly cloudy, windy and warm.


Free State:


Temperature: Fine becoming partly cloudy, windy and warm.


Northern Cape:


Temperature: Cloudy and cold in the west, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm.


Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly reaching strong south of Hondeklip Bay at times in the morning.


Western Cape:


Temperature: Cloudy and cold to cool with isolated to scattered showers and rain in the west.


Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-westerly to westerly moderating north of Yzerfontein from the afternoon.


The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.


Eastern Cape:


The Western half Temperature: Cool with morning fog patches in places in the south, otherwise partly cloudy and warm.


The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly


The Eastern half Temperature: Cool and windy in places, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated thunderstorms from the afternoon.


The Eastern half Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.


Kwazulu-Natal:


Temperature: Fine and warm but hot in places in the east. It will become partly cloudy in the south from the afternoon.


Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northerly to northeasterly becoming south-westerly along the south coast from the afternoon.


The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.
