GRUESOME details emerge regarding slain Kaizer Chiefs star!

The South African soccer fraternity was left in shock after news broke that former Kaizer Chiefs, Maritzburg United and Black Leopards star attacker Lucky Maselele had passed away.


While details surrounding his death were sketchy at first, it has since been reported the the 41-year was beaten to death in Alexandra, Johannesburg on Wednesday (13 October) night.


The former Kaizer Chiefs star was accused of cable theft before being murdered by members of the Alexandra community while two arrests have been made!

“Two suspects have been arrested for the murder of former Kaizer Chiefs and Maritzburg United soccer player Lucky Maselesele, who was allegedly beaten to death after being accused of stealing electrical cables.” a News24 report read.



“When the police approached, the group ran away, and the police managed to apprehend two suspects,” police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said as quoted by the publication regarding the Kaizer Chiefs star’s death.


“It is alleged that the deceased was accused by the community of stealing electrical cables in the area. He was certified dead on the scene by the paramedics.”



Maselesele rose to prominence at Kaizer Chiefs after making his debut for the Glamour Boys in 1998.


Lucky Maselele also enjoyed spells at the likes of Thanda Royal Zulu, Maritzburg United, Black Leopards, FC AK and Manning Rangers during his playing career.


Maselesele got arguably his biggest football break in 2006 when he completed a move to Turkish outfit Yenicami Agdelen where he played for just a solitary season before returning home.


The former Kaizer Chiefs star also received a two-year ban from football after testing positive for cocaine. He eventually retired from the game in 2011.
