Lionel Messi’s luxury R350 000-per-night Paris hotel hit by burglars!

The hotel Paris Saint-Germain football superstar Lionel Messi is currently living in has reportedly been hit by masked thieves.

Lionel Messi, along with his wife Antonela and their three children, Thiago, Mateo and Ciro, have been staying at the luxurious Le Royal Monceau hotel near the Arc de Triomphe since his arrival in the French capital a little over a month ago.


The burglars allegedly broke into the hotel through a balcony door on a floor just above where the Argentine star and his family are residing.

According to the Mirror website, the masked men gained entry by scaling down the building from the roof.  


One guest was robbed of her £3 000 (R60 000) necklace, as well as a pair of earrings worth £500 (R10 000) and £2 000 (R40 000) in cash.

CCTV footage captured two masked men as they entered the building via an unlocked door near Messi’s suite which is said to cost a staggering £17 000 (R350 000) PER NIGHT


“There has clearly been a very serious security breach and it’s being investigated,” a police source told The Sun.


“There is evidence to suggest an experienced gang was responsible.”

The hotel’s past guests include Madonna and Michael Jackson.


Lionel Messi and his family are set to move out of the hotel in the near future after he reportedly found a home to rent in the city.


The six-time Ballon d’Or winner signed a £30 million-a-year contract with PSG in August after he elected to leave Spanish giants Barcelona where he had spent his entire career.
