    Ingredients

    • 500 grams bread flour

    • 20 grams instant yeast

    • 1 tablespoon salt

    • 1 teaspoon sugar

    • 400 ml warm water

    • 75 grams butter, melted and cooled slightly

    • 1 teaspoon dried herbs

    • 1 cup biltong

    • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese

    Method

    • Place the yeast, salt and sugar together in a small mixing bowl and add 300ml of the warm water.

    • Make a well in the centre of your flour and pour in the yeast mixture.

    • Add the butter and herbs and continue to work it in well. Your dough should be wet and sticky. If not add a touch more of the warm water.

    • Knead the dough for approximately 10 minutes until the dough starts coming together and appear silky and smooth.

    • Place the dough onto a floured surface and roll it into a ball. Grease a mixing bowl, add your dough, cover with clingfilm. Leave to rise until your dough has doubled in size.

    • Stretch the dough out into a flat, rectangle shape.

    • Sprinkle the biltong and cheese onto the flattened dough.

    • Grease a bread loaf tin and add the dough to the pan.

    • Rub some oil over the top and leave to rise for another 30 minutes. In the meantime, preheat the oven to 180°C.

    • Once the dough has risen, bake in the oven for 40 minutes or until golden in colour.
