Orlando Pirates secure big win away from home in CAF Confederation Cup

Orlando Pirates recorded a massive 2-0 win away to LPRC Oilers in the CAF Confederation Cup to put one foot into the group stages.

TÅ¡hegofatso Mabasa and Fortune Makaringe struck for the Buccaneers on a pitch which Mandla Ncikazi complained about the minute the team touched down in Monrovia.

Brandon Debah then beat Kwanda Mngonyama as Oilers looked for an equalizer but Siyabonga Mpontshane made himself big to deny the home side.

Deon Hotto then came close to doubling his side’s lead midway through the second half but he was denied by the goalkeeper.


With Pirates holding on, Makaringe scored to give the visitors a 2-0 lead deep into stoppage time, and that’s how the game ended in Monrovia.
