Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
- Yellow level 2 warning for COASTAL WIND resulting in localised disruption of small harbours and/or a port for a short period of time is expected between Cape Columbine and Gansbaai.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
- Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in the Matzikama and Saldanha Bay municipalities (Western Cape).
ADVISORIES:
- A cut-off low pressure system is expected to affect the Namakwa District of Northern Cape and Western Cape on Thursday into Saturday (25-27 November 2021). The public and small stock farmers are advised that there is a risk of some local disruptions due to strong winds (both coastal and inland), very rough seas and widespread thundershowers over the period. Be alert and follow the latest weather forecasts.

Gauteng:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High.
Mpumalanga:
Temperature: Cloudy in the east at times with morning fog patches on the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Cloudy in the east at times with morning fog patches on the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers, except in the north.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.
Free State:
Temperature: Fine over the western and central parts at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme east.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Cloudy with fog along the coast in the morning, otherwise fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be light south-easterly in the morning becoming strong from the afternoon.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Fine and cool to warm but hot in places over the west coast with morning high level clouds but cloudy along the south coast where there will be isolated showers and thundershowers from the morning over the central parts moving to the extreme eastern parts by the evening.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-easterly but easterly along the south coast. It will become fresh to strong from late morning north of Cape Agulhas, reaching gale force at times.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Temperature: Cloudy and cool, with scattered showers along the coast and adjacent interior, but isolated west of Oyster Bay.
The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly, but southerly in places in the morning.
The Eastern half – Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool, but cloudy with scattered showers and rain in the south west, spreading eastwards.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly, becoming south-easterly, from the south mid-morning.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise cloudy and cool but warm in the extreme north. Isolated showers and thundershowers expected.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh southerly to south-westerly.
