Using a seven-iron at the par-3, 202m 17th hole at the Firethorn course, Ritchie posted the first hole-in-one of the season at the opening Sunshine Tour and DP World Tour co-sanctioned event.
However, JC Ritchie missed out on winning a bright yellow brand new Jaguar F-Type – which is only up for grabs for an ace on Saturday and Sunday.

Ritchie went on to sign for a one-over par 72 to trail joint leaders, compatriot Thriston Lawrence and Spain’s Angel Hidalgo, by seven strokes in the weather-interrupted opening round.
