South Africa vs Ghana: Bafana Bafana Starting XI prediction – 6 September 2021

Bafana Bafana starting XI prediction: South Africa got their Fifa World Cup qualifying campaign off to a sluggish start against Zimbabwe but can steal a march on group leaders Ghana on Monday evening.

In the match against Zimbabwe, South Africa were well organised but lacked creativity and execution in the final third.

Centre forward Evidence Makgopa and star man Percy Tau have caught the flak for that performance and while the latter might be safe the former already needs to worry about his place.

Bafana Bafana Starting XI prediction

Skipper Ronwen Williams will definitely start in goal for South Africa having dealt with the limited threat posed by Zimbabwe. He can expect to have a busier evening against the Black Stars though.

In front of Williams, Hugo Broos is unlikely to try and fix what isn’t broken, with Siyanda Xulu and Rushine de Reuck showing great promise as a centre back pairing.

On the flanks Nyiko Mobbie could be in danger of losing his place in favour of someone that offers a bit more going forward, with in-form Sibusiso Mabiliso in the squad.

The central midfield pairing of Mothobi Mvala and Teboho Mokoena is also a promising combination and could ignite further links between Mokoena and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos will need to establish a better link between the midfield and the attack to supply their goal threats with the kind of ball they need. We should see Bongokuhle Hlongwane get a chance from the start ahead of Gift Links.

Broos has made it clear that he doesn’t expect Tau to be at his absolute best given his lack of football, but he should still start ahead of the likes of Sipho Mbule.

A lack of attacking alternatives is likely to see Makgopa lead the line again, however Luther Singh is likely to be replaced by Victor Letsoala on the left.

Bafana Bafana starting XI

Predicted Bafana Bafana Starting XI: Ronwen Williams; Sibusiso Mabiliso, Rushine de Reuck, Siyanda Xulu, Thapelo Morena; Mothobi Mvala, Teboho Mokoena, Bongokuhle Hlongwane, Percy Tau, Sepana Letsoalo, Evidence Makgopa.

Confirmed Starting XI: TBA on Monday 6 September

Police are investigating what led to the vicious attack on the Tyeni village in the Eastern Cape, which led to the deaths of three men and a total of 18 homesteads destroyed.

THREE BODIES WERE FOUND NEAR THE VILLAGE WITH GUNSHOTS WOUNDS

Police spokesperson Sergeant Kaya Matola-Mvanyashe said the community had vacated the area, fearing for their safety.

“On Sunday, police visited the areas on allegation of faction fighting between groups from the Gangata, Siphusiphu, Ziphondo, Maqhinebeni, and Mhlotsheni areas attacking the Tyeni community.”

Approximately 18 homesteads were damaged and burnt down during the attack in the Eastern Cape.

Matola-Mvanyashe said the forest near the village was searched, and two bodies were found.

Bafana Bafana stars to bank HUGE cash if they qualify for 2022 Soccer World Cup – report

The South African Football Association (SAFA) is reportedly negotiating a new incentive scheme for the new generation of Bafana Bafana and Banyana Banyana players.

SAFA, while in a cost-cutting frame of mind, have been hard at work deciding on a fair – and sustainable – remuneration scheme for the men’s and women’s national teams.

Currently Bafana Bafana players earn significantly more than their Banyana Banyana counterparts, despite the latter having enjoyed more success on the international stage.

Bafana Bafana are involved in 2022 Soccer World Cup qualifiers having played a goalless draw against Zimbabwe on Friday in their opening clash in Harare.

They will take on Ghana at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Monday, 6 September (18:00) in what is already a ‘can’t lose’ match.

QUIZ | TAKE OUR QUIZ AND YOU COULD BE R1 000 RICHER!

According to the Sunday World – although SAFA’s CFO Gronie Hluyo would not confirm the figures – Bafana Bafana squad members reportedly stand to pocket R250 000 each if they qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

SAFA is looking to do away with the current scheme in place of R60 000 for a win and R30 000 for a draw with players currently able to earn big money but without any incentive of qualifying for the World Cup.

“We were supposed to meet the players but the schedule was tight. We introduced the matter with coach Hugo Broos and he will have a look at it and give us feedback,” Hluyo said.

“It is an output-based bonus structure and the players will get a handsome bonus if they qualify for the World Cup. The figures are very attractive but I cannot divulge them before we discuss with the players.”

“Banyana is also on top of our priorities. With Banyana, the challenge comes with funding and sponsorship. Bafana get much bigger deals and we are working around the clock to get bigger deals for the women’s teams. We seriously need to equalise the deficit and what we’ve done is that we are now giving Banyana the same daily allowance we are giving Bafana. It’s a start and a step in the right direction,” Hluyo concluded.

Zuma’s medical parole described as a ‘distraction to bigger issues’

Political analyst Xolani Dube says the release of former president Jacob Zuma on medical parole is a distraction to bigger issues that are confronting the country.

The Department of Correctional Services granted Zuma medical parole on Sunday on the basis of a medical report it received from his doctors.

Zuma was serving a 15-month- jail sentence for contempt of court after ignoring a Constitutional Court to appear before the State Capture Commission.

He was admitted to hospital soon after his incarceration on 8 July.

Former President Jacob Zuma placed on medical parole:

He remains in hospital for further assessments.

“I think it’s a pacifying dummy that the script writer now and again put in our mouths in order to defocus us from the real cause or problems in our country. The real issue in South Africa is white power that is the main thing that we as South Africans especially the South African natives are supposed to be discussing,” he explains.

“The issue of JZ [Jacob Zuma] is the by-product of the white power in South Africa. So if we are not going to discuss the white power in the country, we are not going to really solve the problems that we have. We will keep on solving the by product of the white power in our country,” adds Dube.

In the video below, political analyst Xolani Dube expresses his views on Zuma’s medical parole:
