If anyone is well-versed in kicking hornet nests, it’s Julius Malema. In a cryptic late-night Tweet, the EFF leader used the early hours of Monday morning to take a swipe at Jacob Zuma, his supporters, and even President Ramaphosa.

Juju was responding to the news that Zuma, who served nine years as SA’s president, will be freed from jail on medical parole. The decision has split opinion in Mzansi, and DA leader John Steenhuisen will launch a legal challenge. However, it would seem that the decision to discharge Msholozi under a watchful eye is secondary to Mr. Malema.
He was much more focused on how Zuma’s so-called fanatics ‘did not respond decisively’ to his arrest in July.
“Why are these trained fools getting ill-treated by a civilian with a history of being a sellout & comply? We celebrated clowns for too long as our liberators. Sies! You get jailed by a political sellout & you can’t respond decisively. We have celebrated mediocre for too long.”

Malema’s brief rant seems to disregard the wave of unrest that was partly inspired by instigators looking to disrupt the nation shortly after Zuma’s arrest. As far as the top Red Beret is concerned, however, protesters didn’t go far enough.
The 40-year-old political firebrand taunted uBaba for allowing a ‘sell-out president’ in Cyril Ramaphosa to oversee his arrest, and branded a number of struggle fighters associated with the MKMVA as ‘clowns’. Malema has previously called for Zuma to serve the rest of his prison sentence from home, but the fanfare is in short supply at EFF HQ.
