Kaizer Chiefs update squad jersey numbers after transfer window

By updating their first-team squad jersey numbers for the season, Kaizer Chiefs appear to have made a final decision the futures of Lazarous Kambole and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya.

Kambole and Ntiya-Ntiya were among those transfer-listed by the club at the end of last season, meaning Kaizer Chiefs were eager to entertain offers for them.

However, while there was reported interest – especially for Kambole – nothing materialised as the duo didn’t find new employers before the transfer window closed on 31 August.

Amakhosi updated the jersey numbers list for their first team squad for the season on their website – and both Kambole and Ntiya-Ntiya have been left out.

Interestingly though, their jersey numbers – No 7 for Kambole and No 36 for Ntiya-Ntiya – have not been allocated to anyone else in the team.

What’s unclear, at this stage, is whether or not the duo are registered with the PSL to perhaps feature for Kaizer Chiefs this season.

If that’s not the case then the chances of the duo leaving Naturena when the mid-season transfer window opens in January 2022 are very high.

Should Kaizer Chiefs decide to part ways with both Kambole and Ntiya-Ntiya now, then the duo will have to wait for the next transfer window to open before returning to football.

That’s because FIFA rules prohibit players who were not free agents when the previous window closed from signing with another team outside of a transfer window.

Kaizer Chiefs latest | Nange tipped to flourish at Amakhosi

Phathutshedzo Nange will have a great season and will flourish at Kaizer Chiefs, according to his former coach Steve Barker.

And that’s because Chiefs are more suited for the way Nange plays, and the squad the club has assembled will suit him, said Barker.

“I think Nange will have a great season at Chiefs. I think Chiefs are more suited for the way that he plays. I think he will flourish,” said Barker as per Daily Sun.

“The type of team that they have will suit him very well.

Barker revealed it wasn’t easy for Nange to fit in at Stellenbosch last season, but he admitted it will be difficult to replace the lanky midfielder.

Nange contributed five goals and three assists for Stellenbosch even without being a regular starter at the club, and that’s why Barker is lamenting his departure.

“For us, it wasn’t always easy for him to fit in,” he continued.

“But having said that, he did score five goals in all competitions for us which was the highest in his career. So, he hasn’t been easy to replace,” admitted Barker.

“We feel we are covered with the players we have but it’s never easy replacing five goals in a season from midfield. It will be a tough one,” he added.

Durban house collapses, warning of further bad weather [Watch]

Photographs and a video of a house that collapsed into a sink hole in La Mercy has gone viral on social media as the SA Weather Service warned of more bad weather ahead on Tuesday night.

Marshall Security spokesperson Andreas Mathios attended the scene of the collapsed house and spoke to a first responder who arrived to help the home owner on Tuesday. The house collapsed during heavy rainfall that lashed parts of KwaZulu-Natal, including Durban and the North Coast of the province.

“A residential premises on Twilight Avenue in La Mercy has been severely damaged after severe flooding caused water to back up into the drainage system. Foruntatley there were no injuries at the scene,” Mathios said.

“The unexpected high volume of water caused severe damage to the foundations and infrastructure of the road and property,” he said.

“The area has been cordoned off as operations are underway to repair infrastructure. A full investigation will be underway,” Mathios added.

KZN MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) Sipho Hlomuka urged residents to exercise extreme caution as inclement weather conditions continue across large parts of the province.

His department said that heavy rain in and around Durban had led to the landslide at La Mercy where parts of the road had collapsed and a section of a house was washed away in KwaDukuza, Ward 16. Hid department confirmed that no injuries or fatalities were reported.

Hlomuka said in a statement issued on Tuesday night that he had ha assigned disaster management teams to provide the necessary support to the affected families regarding the collapsed house and to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incidents. The department’s teams are continuing to monitor areas that are prone to weather-related incidents. Residents who experience weather-related incidents are urged to contact their local disaster management centre.

Meanwhile the SA Weather Services issued a yellow alert weather warning for KZN and the Eastern parts of the Eastern Cape on Tuesday saying that the risk of destructive rainfall remained overnight.

The funeral service of the late National Freedom Party (NFP) leader and founder, Zanele KaMagwaza-Msibi will be held on Saturday at Mbhasobheni High School in Ulundi, northern KwaZulu-Natal.

KaMagwaza-Msibi, who died on Monday at the age of 59, was also the Science and Technology Deputy Minister between 2014 and 2019.

The family has expressed its wish for her to be accorded a Special Official Funeral.

“The memorial service of the late NFP founder and leader, Zanele KaMagwaza-Msibi, will take place on Thursday here in Ulundi and then the funeral will take place on Saturday here in Ulundi as well. In order to accommodate hundreds of people that we are expecting to come and attend the funeral of President Zanele KaMagwaza-Msibi, the family decided to erect at least two marquees, one for the VIPs where the actual funeral will take place, and the other for the members of the public as you will know that kaMagwaza Msibi was very close to the people and people loved her dearly,” says Canaan Mdletshe.

TX Review; ‘Big Wiz Made In Lagos Deluxe Album Is A Pivotal Career Move, Road To The 64th Grammys!’

Made In Lagos Deluxe Released in 2021 adds four new; “Mood”, where he’s joined by rising Afrofusion singer Buju; “Anoti”; “Steady”; and a remix of his Tems collab “Essence” which also enlists Justin Bieber.

I believe a lot of people will agree with me that Wizkid A.K.A Big Wiz is always on that winning streak; his success is profoundly one of the most consistent in Nigeria for the last decade and still going strong. Last year when he dropped the “Made In Lagos” album, it was evident that no other album (Burna Boy’s “Twice As Tall” being the exception) had that same quality and appeal like Big Wiz “Made In Lagos”.

On August 27th; Big Wiz surprised fans with a deluxe album just after the success of his Justin Bieber, Tems remixed single titled “Essence” which happens to be the best song off that album. There are many reasons why Wizkid decided to release a deluxe album and being his first time; one can guess the reasons might be:

1. A strategy to promote his tour (which by the way is already sold out).

2. As a catalyst to promote the Essence remix featuring Justin Bieber

3. Give fans something to hold them down for the rest of the year

4. Make the Grammy nomination list coming on later this year.

Whatever the reason might be; I guess it might work out for his good after-all. Winning a Grammy for the Essence single is potentially possible and if it does; then that will be a good career move.

The deluxe album has 4 songs; two featured songs and one being a remix of one of the songs on the album.

Made In Lagos deluxe Version Review

ANOTI – has the same rhythmic theme as other songs on the “Made In Lagos” album. Judging by the production, ANOTI sounds like a song that didn’t make the original cut of the album. Now that the deluxe is out; it has a place in the project but I don’t think it meets the standards of other songs on either the album version or the deluxe version. Nothing special about this song except for the production line and the mumbling signature of Bella Shmurda.

MOOD feat. Buju – Not only is this collaboration anticipated but it actually meets up to the expectation and sets the tone for the other songs on the deluxe version of the album. The chemistry between Buju and Big Wiz is commendable. Hopefully, we can get more of songs like this from both artistes in the future . The Afro-R&B production on this record has a chilling vibe to it and you can’t deny the mood once the record starts playing; because you will want it on repeat. This A Big Mood!

STEADY – this is the stand out record on the deluxe version; this song will be to this deluxe version what Essence is to the original version. The production is an interpolation of a Drakish R&B style of beat laced with Afrobeat elements; it’s a good work of art in beat sequencing that worked. Big Wiz kept the mood on steady, as the beat goes on and on, with a saxophone playing at background and cutting through a vocal sample. This song will have a lot of international appeal, and the captivating vibe of the sound and vibe is true definition of an exceptional record..

ESSENCE Featuring Tems & Justin Bieber – Needless to say; this record is a hit. The original version is a hit and now the remix is the epitome of all Big Wiz collaboration in recent times. The idea of bringing in Justin Bieber in the record is genius and everyone on the song shined. The chemistry of every artiste is impeccable. Maybe the whole reason for the deluxe version was inspired by this song, because it has a big chance of getting nominated for a Grammy later this year. The production of the record didn’t change much; but more saxophone sessions were added, the tempo was sped up a bit and you can hear the added vocal samples in the background. So far, ESSENCE Remix is the biggest song from Naija and it’s worth every single accolades it gets.

“Made In Lagos” Deluxe version is a win because it is a good project set out on a good time. First, it helps stamp the new name ‘Big Wiz’. Second, brings out the beauty of the original album (it shows the level Big Wiz is headed to in his career), And on the final note, gives the project a Grammy Best World Album nomination & hopefully the Essence Remix single also wins a Grammy to set new record.

The deluxe version stayed in line with the production of the original album and sets a new tone for the future of Big Wiz. STREAM HERE!

“Made In Lagos” Deluxe Edition is rated 8.
