Yami Gautam reveals she suffers from skin condition called Keratosis-Pilaris

Yami posted a series of her untouched and unedited pictures on her Instagram. While expressing herself, the actress said, "Hello my Insta family, I recently shot for some images and just when they were about to go in for post-production (a common procedure) to conceal my skin condition called Keratosis- Pilaris, I thought, ‘Hey Yami, why don’t you embrace this fact and accept it enough to be OKAY with it. Just let it be... (Yes, I do talk out loud to myself????????♀). For those who haven't heard about this, it’s a skin condition wherein you get tiny bumps on the skin. I promise they aren’t as bad as your mind and your neighbour aunty makes it out to be) I developed this skin condition during my teenage years, and there is still no cure for it."

"I've dealt with it for many years now and today finally, I decided to let go of all my fears and insecurities and found the courage to love and accept my ‘flaws’ wholeheartedly. I also found the courage to share my truth with you. Phew! I didn't feel like airbrushing my folliculitis or smoothing that ‘under-eye or ‘shaping up’ that waist a tiny bit more! And yet, I feel beautiful :)," she further added.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Yami has a packed calendar. Her films Dasvi, A Thursday, and Lost are in the pipeline for release, while OMG 2, Dhoom Dhaam, and Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga are all in the makings

REVEALED: The REAL reason why Paresh Rawal is not a part of Akshay Kumar's OMG: Oh My God! 2

After years of speculation, Akshay Kumar is finally all set to start shooting for the OMG: Oh My God! sequel from October. The actor has allotted 20 days for the film, which features Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in key roles. While all through the last decade, there were speculations about Paresh Rawal leading the sequel much like the first part, the involvement of Pankaj Tripathi came in as a surprise to one and all.

The REAL reason why Paresh Rawal is not a part of Akshay Kumar's OMG: Oh My God! 2

When we investigated the reason for Paresh's exit from the film, a source from the industry informed Bollywood Hungama, "Paresh was definitely the first choice for Oh My God! 2, in-fact the makers had even started a conversation with him. However, the actor believed that he deserved money over and above his market value as he was the lead actor in the first part and was a major reason for its success. However, the makers felt that paying more would take the budget haywire."

The source added, "Paresh then gave another proposal of entering into a profit-sharing deal, however, even that didn't work out as there were multiple producers involved in the project. After multiple attempts to be on the same page, the monetary deal didn't work out and eventually Paresh decided to part ways as he strongly felt that he deserved more than what he was offered. It's only after Paresh's exit that the makers went ahead to sign Pankaj Tripathi. They are now confident that Pankaj Tripathi will bring in the much needed unique flavour to the story."

The sequel is directed by Amit Rai and went on floors this August end with Tripathi. Akshay will join the sets once he finishes Mission Cinderella in London, which is directed by Bell Bottom director Ranjit Tewari.

Municipal elections: IEC SLAMS Action SA claims as ‘mischievous’

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has responded to Action SA after the party complained about its name being omitted in the final draft ballot papers for Gauteng ward councillors. The IEC essentially says Action SA only has itself to blame for this as the party “elected not to register an abbreviated name or acronym.”

Action SA had written to the IEC about this and gave the electoral body until 10:00 to make rectifications, however the deadline was never met and now the party is heading to court.

Action SA vs IEC in ballot paper saga

Explaining how Action SA’s name omission came about, the IEC says it held a series of meetings with local Politcal Party Liaison Committees to enable political parties and independent candidates participating in the November 1 Municipal Elections to sign off on the draft ballot paper. It says this is meant to verify the completeness of administrative processes related to candidate nomination as well as confirmation of the registered party identifiers on the various ballots.

“The use of registered particulars of a political party in the ballot paper design is intended to obviate ad hoc and arbitrary considerations. The unique identifiers are provided by each political party at the point of application for registration as a party. Thus, the scheme places responsibility on the party to register whatever details and identifiers it deems appropriate,” said IEC spokesperson Kate Bapela.

“The absence of the abbreviated name of ActionSA on the ward ballots is because, at the point of registering as a party, ActionSA elected not to register an abbreviated name or acronym. ActionSA, in their documents in which they applied for registration as a political party, and which must be publicly lodged in terms of the regulations, responded with a “Not Applicable” in the space where the political party was required to indicate its abbreviated name. The party went further to indicate that “there is no abbreviation of the name of the party” as part of its application documentation. The application was lodged in Government Gazette 43940, published on 27 November 2020”

IEC spokesperson Kate Bapela

Action SA further implied that the IEC was not being impartial by making reference to its decision to extend the deadline for candidate submission after the ANC had failed to meet the same deadline. The IEC also says there are 14 other political parties in the same boat as Action SA.

“The insinuation that the Commission is acting without due impartiality is without foundation and mischievous. The onus to choose party identifiers rests with the political party and not the Commission, and the scheme in the ballot design has been part of our electoral management practice since the inception of democratic local government in 2000,” Bapela added.

Militants kill 14 soldiers, injure seven in Burkina Faso attack

A large group of heavily armed militants killed 14 Burkina Faso soldiers and injured seven others in a dawn attack in the north on Monday, the government said in a statement.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack on the military detachment, which took place near the town of Yirgou,in the center-north Sanmatenga province, an area overrun by jihadist insurgents linked to Al-Qaeda and Islamic State.

Yirgou was the scene of another militant ambush in June, when at least 15 police officers were killed.

Their unit had been visiting the town on a relief mission following a previous bout of militant violence.

Attacks linked to Al-Qaeda and Islamic State have surged across Africa’s Sahel region, killing thousands and displacing millions across Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

About 1.2 million people have been displaced by the violence in Burkina Faso alone.
